# Follow the question back to its source

GHK-Cu source notes · September 30, 2026

Care-rule source notes · September 26, 2026

Choose a source to suit the question you want answered. There is no need to read every paper to ask for a clear explanation.

The Food and Drug Administration oversees drugs in the US; its initials are FDA.
Your question

Read with this limit
What is the FDA status?
The FDA ingredient lists and approval-search record below.
The FDA keeps records of ingredient names and codes for drug products. Neither record means the medicine has approval.
What was found in people?
The papers summing up skin research and the laser-treatment study below.
Studies of skin products cannot tell us what shots would do.
Who is offering care?
The medical-board directory and pharmacy search below.
A licence record is not a score for the care or approval of the product.

Match the source to the question before relying on its answer.

## Check the FDA records for skin products and shots

- ### [FDA medicine-approval search record](https://api.fda.gov/drug/drugsfda.json?search=products.active_ingredients.name:%22PREZATIDE%22)

The September 30, 2026 approval searches found no approved GHK-Cu medicine.

- ### [FDA’s injection entry](https://www.fda.gov/drugs/human-drug-compounding/certain-bulk-drug-substances-use-compounding-may-present-significant-safety-risks)

The page current as of April 22, 2026 shows that a request to consider GHK-Cu for made-to-order shots was taken back. The FDA’s safety concern remains beside it.

- ### [FDA list for GHK-Cu used without shots (PDF)](https://www.fda.gov/media/94155/download)

The list updated May 14, 2026 includes GHK-Cu used without shots in category 1, a group still being considered. While deciding about these ingredients, the FDA says it plans no action against pharmacies that meet the policy’s conditions. That does not establish permission or approval.

- ### [FDA’s explanation of cosmetic rules](https://www.fda.gov/cosmetics/cosmetics-laws-regulations/fda-authority-over-cosmetics-how-cosmetics-are-not-fda-approved-are-fda-regulated)

As of September 30, 2026, cosmetics sold only to change appearance need no FDA medicine approval, except for ingredients that add colour.

- ### [FDA’s questions and answers on compounding](https://www.fda.gov/drugs/human-drug-compounding/compounding-and-fda-questions-and-answers)

Use this for the distinction between making a medicine to order and FDA approval, checked September 26, 2026.

## Look at the human research

- ### [A paper summing up GHK research in wrinkle products](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39963574/)

This 2025 paper discusses the lack of studies in people and why findings in the lab have drawn interest.

- ### [A paper summing up GHK-Cu research and its gaps](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/42787770/)

This 2026 paper describes few studies in people, mainly small trials of skin creams.

- ### [The trial after laser skin treatment](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16847171/)

In this 2006 trial, measured redness and wrinkles did not clearly differ, but people using GHK-Cu skin care reported higher satisfaction.

- ### [The ClinicalTrials.gov search record](https://clinicaltrials.gov/api/v2/studies?query.term=GHK-Cu%20OR%20%22copper%20peptide%22%20OR%20%22copper%20tripeptide%22%20OR%20prezatide)

ClinicalTrials.gov is a public list of studies. The September 30, 2026 search found no trial testing GHK-Cu shots in people on that list.

## Find the record behind the care offer

- ### [Find your state medical board](https://www.fsmb.org/contact-a-state-medical-board/)

This directory links to the boards that keep doctor-licence records. Some states have more than one doctor-licensing board; ask the doctor which board holds their record.

- ### [FDA’s state pharmacy-licence search](https://www.fda.gov/drugs/besaferx-your-source-online-pharmacy-information/locate-state-licensed-online-pharmacy)

Follow your state link to check the pharmacy named in a proposed plan.

- ### [HHS guidance on licences for telehealth](https://telehealth.hhs.gov/licensure/getting-started-licensure)

The US Department of Health and Human Services is known as HHS. Its guidance, checked September 26, 2026, describes permission to practise in the patient’s location at the time of care. Every state sets its own rules, which must be followed there.

- ### [Medical-board guidance on online prescribing (PDF)](https://www.fsmb.org/siteassets/advocacy/policies/guidance-on-recent-trends-in-prescribing-and-dispensing-adopted.pdf)

The medical-board group’s guidance, adopted in May 2026, says a visit needs more than choosing a treatment from a menu. The guidance also asks for access to the health professional for questions after the visit.

## Read about a concern or report a problem

- ### [MedlinePlus on Wilson disease](https://medlineplus.gov/ency/article/000785.htm)

It explains the inherited condition in which copper builds up in the body.

- ### [MedlinePlus on severe allergic reactions](https://medlineplus.gov/ency/article/000844.htm)

Use this for the general urgent-help signs discussed on the red-flags page.

- ### [FDA’s MedWatch reporting programme](https://www.fda.gov/safety/medwatch-fda-safety-information-and-adverse-event-reporting-program)

Both patients and health professionals can report medicine problems through MedWatch.

Read this guide for questions to ask about GHK-Cu care. It shares information; this guide neither runs a clinic nor sells treatments.
